first evidenced based re-entry program graduation for both male and female offenders, called Successful

Piedmont Regional Jail Authority developed a partnership with Crossroads Community Service Board to
implement a 12-week evidence-based re-entry program entitled, Successful Living. This program is
designed to aid male and female offenders with the capability to adopt a positive mindset, while utilizing the proper tools
and strategies to overcome barriers that led to substance use issues in order to close the revolving door of
incarceration permanently.

Piedmont Regional Jail Authority proudly graduated 8 men and 6 women from the pilot program of the
Successful Living program which was spear headed by Mr. George Davis, a licensed counselor at
Crossroads Community Service Board. Former Cincinnati Health Commissioner and newly selected Director
of Crossroads Community Service Board, Dr. Melba Moore, was the guest speaker and gave a resonating
speech to the graduates. A few sound bites that were instilled into the atmosphere were, “Don’t look in the rearview mirror and success is a choice that you made today.”

Mr. Doug Stanley, the Vice-Chair of Piedmont Regional Jail Board and County Administrator of Prince
Edward County stated, “On behalf of the Piedmont Regional Jail, I wish to congratulate each of the
graduates of the Piedmont Regional Jail Authority Successful Living Program. The commitment displayed
by the offenders who completed the program shows their desire to turn their lives around.

Thank you to the PRJ staff and Crossroads staff for their support of the program and making it a priority. I
also want to personally thank Superintendent Townsend for his heart-felt support of the program. He truly
believes that the PRJ facility is more than a building, it is an opportunity to produce positive and successful
outcomes for the individuals that are willing to step up and seize it.”
