Successful Living Graduation- 2024

On October 25, 2024, Piedmont Regional Jail Authority held a graduation ceremony for eight offenders, recognizing seven for completing the Successful Living Program and one for earning a GED. In 2022, the jail partnered with Crossroads Community Board to implement a 12-week program aimed at helping offenders address barriers and recover from substance abuse. Classes are conducted by licensed counselors George Davis and Matthew Gleason, with participants also attending a Peer Support Group on Fridays. The program has positively influenced participants’ behavior.

In 2023, Piedmont Regional Jail Authority collaborated with Southside Community College to offer Adult GED classes, led by instructor Dennis McCarthy. The jail continues to celebrate offenders’ achievements, fostering an environment that encourages positive decision-making and productive citizenship. Superintendent Jerry Townsend and staff are committed to helping offenders become law-abiding productive citizens.
